Importance of a Mobile Site for Your Business

Having a mobile site for your small business is now more important than ever. To highlight that point, here  is an often quoted statistic, that was originated back in 2012 and is frequently repeated throughout the marketing and tech fields:

“There are more mobile phones in the world than there are toothbrushes.”

If you developed a great website for your business several years ago, you understand how helpful it is to have the site. If you are contemplating a web site, it’s because you know you need to do it. You also need a mobile version of that site. Years ago, there was little to no reason to have a mobile site. That has changed. If you want to wow your current clients, help pull in new clients, stay ahead of your local competition and retain clients in the future, you really want to have a mobile ready website.

    • 56% of adults have smartphones (source)
    • By 2014, it is projected that more users will access the internet from their phone than from a computer (Bayshore)
    • Aug 13, 2013 – 78% of US FaceBook users are Mobile (Facebook)
    • 48% of users feel frustrated and annoyed when they visit non mobile-friendly sites (source)
    • 61% of users are likely to leave quickly if your site is not optimized well for mobile devices (source)
    • 50% of local searches are carried out on mobile devices

You already see it in your waiting room, lobby or even, as you are interacting with your client; your clients are using their mobile devices for searching, shopping and communicating. It is well documented that in cases where businesses have embraced the mobile web (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) a surge in mobile traffic has been experienced. Having a website is almost mandatory for your small business; it’s now equally important to have a mobile site.

When a client uses a mobile device, they want to find information quickly, easily and are expecting an easy interface. While your normal web site will show up on a mobile device, it is difficult to read and navigate from that device. If your client, or potential client, is having a bad experience, they are very likely to go to another site!
There is almost no effort on your part to take a website and have it converted to a mobile site that is easy for your current and potential clients to read, navigate and use. Get yourself and your business on top of the curve and attract more clients!
